Structural drying in Raleigh, NC

Pulling up the puddle is the easy half. The water you cannot see, soaked into framing, subfloor and the back of drywall, is what turns a cleanup into a mold problem a few weeks later. We dry to a number with air movers, dehumidifiers and daily readings. Call (910) 606-6161.

Scope and pricing

What structural drying includes

  • Moisture mapping with pin and pinless meters and a thermal camera
  • Water extraction and removal of unsalvageable materials
  • LGR dehumidifiers and air movers sized to the loss
  • Antimicrobial treatment of affected framing and subfloor
  • Daily moisture readings and photos, logged for your claim
  • Xactimate estimate and direct billing to your carrier

What we don't do: guess. Equipment comes out when the readings say the materials are dry, not on a schedule. We document those readings as we go, which matters when your adjuster wants proof the work was done right.

How pricing works

Inspection and moisture mapping are free. If it is an insurance loss, we write the estimate in Xactimate, the same software your adjuster uses, and bill the carrier directly; you pay your deductible and nothing else unless the carrier denies part of the scope, and we tell you that before we do the work.

For out-of-pocket jobs you get a written estimate before we start. Some written estimates on larger non-insurance jobs carry a fee that is credited back if you hire us.

Rebuild after drying is scoped and quoted separately from the mitigation work.

How it works

Five steps, one point of contact

1

Call and dispatch

You talk to the technician coming out. On site within 60 minutes, 24/7.

2

Inspect and map

Moisture meters and a thermal camera find every wet material, including inside walls and under floors. Photos start here.

3

Contain and extract

Standing water out, unsalvageable material removed, containment and air scrubbers up if the loss needs them.

4

Dry and monitor

LGR dehumidifiers and air movers sized to the loss. Daily readings until materials hit dry standard, usually 3 to 5 days.

5

Document

Drying logs, photos and the Xactimate estimate go to your adjuster, so any rebuild is scoped against the claim.

You get a call from the person driving, not an automated text.

Insurance

Does insurance cover structural drying?

Usually, as part of a covered water loss.

Drying equipment, monitoring visits and the removal of materials that cannot be saved are standard line items on a covered water claim. We log every reading and bill the carrier directly. We cannot promise how a carrier will rule.

We write the estimate in Xactimate, keep daily drying logs and photos, meet the adjuster on site, and bill the carrier directly. How we handle insurance claims

What you do

1. Call us first so the drying starts.
2. Call your carrier and open a claim.
3. Send us the claim number and adjuster name.
We do the rest.

1. Document

We photograph and meter everything before anything moves, so the loss is on record.

2. Call us, then your carrier

Drying starts the same day. You open the claim; we send the estimate and logs.

3. We meet the adjuster

On site, with the Xactimate scope. Direct billing; you pay the deductible.

FAQ

Structural drying and dehumidification questions

How long does drying take?

Most residential losses dry in 3 to 5 days once extraction and equipment are in place. Crawl spaces, slabs and hardwood take longer. We take readings every day and pull equipment when the numbers say dry.

Do I have to leave the equipment running all the time?

Yes. Turning it off overnight adds days to the job and raises the risk of mold. The equipment is louder and warmer than most people expect; we tell you what to expect up front.

What is dry standard?

The moisture content of the same materials in an unaffected part of the house. We measure that first and dry the wet materials back to it.

Can you dry hardwood without replacing it?

Often, if we get to it early. Mat drying systems pull water out of the boards in place. Cupping usually flattens as the wood dries; boards that have buckled or delaminated do not recover.

Will there be mold?

Not if the structure is dried inside 48 to 72 hours, which is why we come the same day. If materials were wet longer than that, we are IICRC certified in mold remediation and handle it under the same job.

Do you charge for the inspection?

No. Moisture mapping and a thermal scan are free. If you need a written estimate for a non-insurance job, we say up front whether there is a fee.

Still have a question?

Call or text and the owner answers. If it is an emergency, say so and we roll.
