24/7 emergency service
Cupped heart pine in a Carrboro mill house does not always have to come up. When the water is caught early, the moisture can often be pulled back out of the boards and the subfloor below, and the floor settles flat again. Tearing out original wood should be the last option, not the first thing a crew reaches for.

Carrboro houses and weather
Downtown Carrboro and Northside are mill-town streets, with houses that sit on brick-pier crawl spaces and still carry original cast-iron drains and galvanized supply lines. Leaks there run under the house for weeks before a smell or a soft spot gives them away.
Around the Lloyd Street and Estes Drive areas, mid-century homes add plaster walls and additions that meet at odd angles, so water travels farther than it looks.
Winmore and Lake Hogan Farms are 2000s construction with attic HVAC and tanks that are getting old.
Across town, shade and red clay keep crawl spaces damp most of the year, and runoff from Bolin Creek and Morgan Creek reaches the lower lots in heavy rain.
What we do in Carrboro
ProWorks Restoration meters before it removes anything. Our water damage drying and cleanup starts with readings under the floor and inside the walls, and daily checks decide what stays in your home and what goes.

Original oak and heart pine can often be saved with specialty drying and a close eye on the readings. Our hardwood floor water damage work dries the boards and subfloor together.

Shaded lots and clay soil keep Carrboro crawl spaces damp most of the year. We contain the space, remove affected material and dry the framing.
Flooding from hurricane remnants and heavy rain, wind and fallen-tree openings, roof leak dry-outs.
Category 3 water from sewer and septic backups: containment, removal, disinfection and drying.
We dry out the water left behind by firefighting. Board-up, soot, odor and contents work are not services we do in house.

FAQ
Can cupped hardwood really flatten out again?
Often, when the water was clean and the drying starts within a day or two. Boards that stay cupped after drying are documented for the claim.
Do you work on rental houses near campus?
We work with landlords and property managers, and we can coordinate tenant access. The paperwork goes to whoever holds the policy.
Is Carrboro too far for an emergency?
It is the western edge of our regular area, and emergency calls are answered 24/7. You get a straight answer on arrival time before you commit.
Will the plaster walls have to come out?
Not always. Plaster can often be dried in place, and we open only what the moisture map says has to go.
Do you refinish the floors after drying?
Refinishing is a separate trade, and it is scoped after the wood is dry. We document the drying so the refinisher and your adjuster work from the same readings.
You deal with one crew for the water, the drying and the paperwork, start to finish. Call (910) 606-6161 and we start with the floors you want to keep.
